Decoding Retirement Life
When you think about retirement life, what comes to mind? Do you think about a life where you finally have the time to do the things you want to do without the pressure and stress of work? But when you really think about it, do you know what your day-to-day life will look like? Did you retire but find yourself wondering about what to do during all the time you used to spend at work? Or are you thinking about retirement but hesitating because you’re unsure what life will look like? Are you looking for ideas of things to do and not sure where to start? Maybe you are looking for a new hobby or activity or volunteer work. Do you want suggestions for planning a trip? Are you looking to meet new people? How about decluttering your home or cutting expenses? Do you want tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle? If you answered yes to any of these questions, Decoding Retirement Life was created for you.
For more information about what this site is (and is not) about read More about Decoding Retirement Life and The Big Question: I’m retired, now what?
Hi I’m Karen.
I created this blog to share my tips and experiences in building my retirement life. While many of us dream about no longer having to work, the reality of building a meaningful and enjoyable post-work life can be difficult. Further, sometimes the expectation of retirement does not meet reality and that can be discouraging.
Through this website I hope you will find ideas and information that are of use to you, maybe even inspiring. Not all the ideas are mine since I will be calling on my friends to share their thoughts and experiences too. No matter where you are in your retirement journey I hope this blog will help you find a sense of community.
